ABOUT
Born and raised in Irajá, North Zone of the Rio suburbs, iKinya began to gain relevance in Freestyle circles and RAP battles, at the age of 17, age at which she also discovered the “Sarau” movement, an important source of inspiration that helped to begin her compositions.
Before starting her career professionally, iKinya posted videos of her singing on her social media, both songs, authors and covers, and it was through this independent movement that the artist gained notoriety from both the public and important figures in the market.
NOTORIETY AND CONSEQUENCES
Even before launching into the music market and even having a professional job, iKinya had her first viralization on social media after making a homemade collection of the classic "Nego Drama" which caught attention, making it possible for the artist to deliver her first work professionally and launch herself.
From then on, labels and record companies were interested in betting on the singer. iKinya studied the proposals and possibilities and released her first song "BREVE" in collaboration with the Diresponsa label. Since then she hasn't stopped.
In such a short time since her career, iKinya began to receive proposals and had more opportunities. Known for her autonomy and persistence, she still continued to promote her work with videos of her singing and showing all her talent and differences. Even without many resources.
Shortly after releasing her first professional work, she received a proposal from "Globo Play" to compose the soundtrack for the famous series "Arcanjo Renegado". The song "PRETO" was very successful, to the point of becoming the main track of the series and being used to propagate the saga in prime time commercials on Brazilian TV.
PROFESSIONALISM AND VERSATILITY
With this work, iKinya established herself as a versatile artist, although she began her career
career in "Rap", showed that she is beyond just one musical genre. Although she was seen as an MC at the start of her career, today she is known as a singer.
Following the path of versatility and always willing to make good music, she released her first audiovisual with the song "Pelo Amor De Deus" in partnership with the label "Grito Filmes".
With this, she made her work even more professional and continued to attract attention in the market and the people.
MARKET AND CAREER
The artist moves between the musical genres with which she most identifies and works according to her stage and moment in her career, always open to new challenges. What differentiates her is that, although she moves between genres, she always make things her own, regardless of what she sings, you'll know it’s iKinya.
Based on this, it has also stood out in the Pop and funk market, undergoing an artistic acceleration process, "ESTUDE O FUNK" carried out by Fundição Progresso and the Beats brand.
During the course she stood out and had her first professional contact with the genre market, working on her shows and songs for projects focused on this genre. Her first funk song was released in partnership with the EOF project. In addition to also working on other projects in other musical genre. New songs, new clips, partnerships.
AT THE MOMENT
iKinya, currently an independent artist, has been focusing on her shows, working on future releases and perfecting her performances.
Her show is a true experience. Although iKinya has a diverse audience, today her largest audience is female, and the LGBT audience. The artist aims for her show to be a moment of self-esteem, she seeks to transmit power, emit sensations through her lyrics. iKinya alternates her presentations between performing only with a DJ, and between a DJ and her ballet, also composed of women.
Recently iKinya had a milestone in her career, where she opened the show for Mc Marechal in one of the biggest music festivals in Latin America, the "Universo Paralelo" festival which takes place in Salvador - Bahia. She shared the stage with artists such as: Don l, sky, Rapadura chic chico, Tulipa Ruiz.
